You'll remember in last week's lesson we spoke about learning English effortlessly through songs. This week it's your turn to put these tips into practice by highlighting the vocabulary you don't know, then look them up in the dictionary, listen to the song on repeat, and lastly dare to sing along! I've highlighted some nouns and metaphors for you to start with. You can ask me the meaning of the metaphors next time I see you in class.
"Killing The Blues"
Leaves were falling, just like embers,
In colours red and gold, they set us on fire
Burning just like a moonbeam in our eyes.
Somebody said they saw me, swinging the world by the tail
Bouncing over a white cloud, killing the blues.
Now I am guilty of something...
I hope you never do
Because there is nothing
Sadder than losing yourself in love.
Now you asked me... just to leave you
To go out on my own
And get what I need to
You want me to find what I've already had.
